Our Mission: To lead children to Christ, by providing quality learning experiences that will enrich children’s lives in a loving, nurturing environment.
Our Teaching Philosophy
Children are a precious gift from God. All children are important and have the desire to learn. Our job is to determine how they learn best and provide that opportunity for them. Children learn by doing and by seeing what we, as adults, do. So, we will live each day with them in a manner that fosters their Christian development as well as their cognitive/language, motor, physical, psychological, and emotional development. All areas of learning are best integrated throughout the curriculum. We feel children learn best in an environment where they are involved in developmentally appropriate practices, as set by guidelines developed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
"At Children of Faith, we strive to provide a structured, nurturing, and Christ centered environment through bible study, active play, academic learning, and fellowship with their peers so that our children are equipped to smoothly transition to Kindergarten and beyond." -Jennifer Alcocer, Director

Jennifer Alcocer
Director
I am blessed to serve as the school director after having served in education with young children for over 20 years in the Albuquerque Public School system. I grew up in Santa Fe, NM and have lived in Albuquerque for 40 years. I became a member of Faith Lutheran Church 10 years ago and love to hear my daughter Anna Gear and her husband Brady sing in our church band. I love spending time with my grandchildren, Hunter and Harper. I will strive to keep Children of Faith a quality Christian preschool and live out our mission to lead children to Christ.

Sandy Humelsine
4’s & 5’s PreK (M-F)
I was blessed to start working with Children of Faith preschool in May 2024 after more than ten years of teaching grades K-3 in elementary Schools around New Mexico. My dad was in the Air Force so my family lived in many places before settling in New Mexico more than 20 years ago. We joined Faith Lutheran Church about the same time. I spend my free time by doing puzzles, reading, quilting, and spending time with my family. My goal is to help every child that comes into my life, regardless of how that event happens, to become a happy, well-rounded, and responsible Christian who will make our world a better place to live.

Hello! My name is Janet Johnson, and I began teaching young children when my daughter's preschool invited me to join their teaching staff. What a blessing it was to be able to teach preschool right where my daughter went to school! It has given me great joy to have worked as a preschool teacher for almost 20 years now. I am excited to be part of the team at Faith, and to bring the word of the Lord to the children.
