Your Mission & Service Ministry Team distributed Mission funds in May 2026 as follows:
$1,200.00 to Friends of Madagascar Mission: Supporting 2 programs that are committed to spreading the Gospel and thereby transforming lives of the Malagasy People. madagascarmission.org
Nofy i Androy Program ($400 sponsors 2 students): The Androy region, located in southwestern Madagascar, is one of the poorest regions of the country. The region suffers from periodic drought, famine, and harmful cultural practices. The local tribe has been a male-dominated culture which has limited the value of women and girls to baby production and raising a family. As a result, the Androy region has alarmingly high rates of child marriage and child pregnancies making the adolescent girls much more likely to drop out of school and often harming their health. Parents trapped in desperate poverty have been documented to marry off their daughters as young as ten years old as a quick fix to their financial problems, and often much older husbands frequently prevent the girls from attending school and reaching their highest potentials. The Nofy i Androy program tutors and mentors students from public schools. The students receive scholarship support through middle school, high school, and on to university if they so choose. The teacher/student ratio is kept low for the best results and incorporates a curriculum and atmosphere of female empowerment, individual motivation, and self-confidence. The program also has a female evangelist of the Malagasy Lutheran Church who teaches and gives Christian guidance to the students, parents, & staff.
Evangelist Sponsorship - Randriamanana Tovohery ($800): This Evangelist’s journey began in 2013, preaching the Gospel to people who do not yet know about God’s Kingdom. He is on an evangelical holy mission in dark places around the place where he lives. He encourages members of his congregation and Christians he encounters to also evangelize. He teaches confirmation classes, on Sundays leads services, and also encourages Christians who have walked away from their churches to come back and live their faith again. He is grateful for Faith’s sponsorship and asks for our graceful God to bless us for what we are doing through him to extend God’s Kingdom.
Your generous donations for Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless of new socks, water bottles, and sunscreen will make our hot summers a little more tolerable for the homeless in our community. They may not personally know us, but they do know that there are people who recognize their challenges and help.
We recently received a letter from Juan Daniel Hernandez Flores, one of two students in Guatemala sponsored through Common Hope by our Faith Congregation. Juan will be 17 in June and is in 11th grade. This photo is his family - Juan is on the far left. This is the English translation of his letter:
“It is a pleasure to hear from you again, and yes, I was very happy to receive your letter. Thank you for your kind words and for always supporting me. I’m still studying and doing my best effort in my studies. I continue to also take part in activities that I enjoy, especially music. The school year here is a little different, but I’m doing my best to give it my all. Sometimes it’s hard, but I remember your advice and try to keep going without giving up.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes; I received them with great affection. My family sends you all warm regards and is very grateful for your support. May God bless you as well. With much love, Juan Daniel.”
We recently received a letter from Jade Lloyd Arias Guzman, one of two students in Guatemala sponsored through Common Hope by our Faith Congregation.
“Thank you for sending me a letter. I am happy because we can communicate through letters. I want to tell you that I am now in 7th grade and I love school. I already have friends and I enjoy spending time with them during recess. I also do all my homework and am doing very well in my classes. Every day I ask our Creator in Heaven to enlighten my mind so that I can get good grades and pass the grades. My family and I had a great time at Christmas and we ate a lot. I am happy to know that you are thinking of me. I think of you too. I would love to have the honor of meeting you some day. I say goodbye to you for now, I send you a big hug. May God bless you always! Greetings to everyone there. Sincerely, Jade Lloyd Arias Guzman”
